Consistency is something players and coaches hope to have in at least one player on their team. Having a player that is consistent causes the team to have confidence in tough situations.

Junior Kristen Tenhundfeld has shown her versatility by playing as defender, midfielder and forward for Transy's soccer team. For the Transylvania women’s soccer team they can always count on junior Kristin Tenhundfeld to be consistent. Her consistency has gained her respect with her teammates and coaches. It has also caused her to become a leader on the team because they can count on her to play her best at all times.

“Kristin has been a consistent force for us this year,” said Head Coach Michael Fulton.

Along with her consistency, Tenhundfeld has proven her versatility by exceeding in several different positions on the field. She has also stepped up for the team by scoring in big ways.

“She has played as a defender, midfielder and forward for us, while being able to be effective in each position. She has scored some big goals for us and has been our most versatile player this year,” said Fulton.

One of the times Tenhundfeld has stepped up was with a hat trick last Saturday against the Wittenberg University Tigers. This win was important for the Pioneers because it gave them confidence and momentum heading into the game with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

“Winning on Saturday is really going to help us because now we are going into the tournament with momentum,” said Tenhundfeld. “Playing against Rose-Hulman is always a tough game, but we were the only team in the conference to beat them, so I think we have a good chance to win on Wednesday.”

Even though the season has been tough for the team, Tenhundfeld was confident that the women’s soccer team has a chance at winning on Wednesday. Winning now is what mattered and the women have been playing well as of late.

Tenhundfeld reaffirmed this by saying, “Our team is capable of beating any team in the conference, but being seeded fourth may work to our advantage. We are playing really well right now, and we have a chance to win the conference tournament and go to NCAA tournament, so we just need to keep playing hard and things will happen for us.”

Hopefully Tenhunfeld’s consistency and the team’s confidence will power them past Hanover in the finals of the HCAC tournament.
