Pioneer Performer: This week’s honors go to the entire men’s soccer team, who claimed a share of the regular season HCAC Championship with a win over Bluffton on Saturday. The Pioneers exploded with four second half goals and finish 8-0-1 in Heartland Conference play (the only tie coming at Rose-Hulman, with whom the Pioneers share the conference title). Men’s soccer begins tournament play vs. Franklin, 7:30pm Wednesday at Henry Clay High School.

Matchup of the Week: Friday at 6:30pm Transylvania swimming and diving heads to Danville to take on rival Centre. Both the men’s and women’s teams faced tough losses to Asbury College this past Saturday, despite strong performances from Carly Hubbard, Chelsea Diamond, and Brian Daffin. Both teams will have a little extra motivation as they look to rebound against the Colonels.

Player to Watch: Precocious freshman Alyssa Kruse led women’s soccer in both goals and points during the regular season, which ended with a win over Bluffton Saturday. Look for Kruse to continue this offensive production as the Pioneers enter HCAC tournament play against Hanover, at 7pm Tuesday on Hall Field.
