Pioneer Performance: Transylvania Golf spent their spring break competing in the Jekyll Invitational, hosted by Oglethorpe University, in Jekyll Island, Georgia and finished fifth among a field of thirty teams. This week’s honors go to Pioneer Jantzen Latham, who finished in the top five among individual scores for the weekend, and earned All-Tournament Honors with a final score of 220 (four over par for the 54-hole competition).

Matchup of the Week: Both the men and women’s Tennis Pioneers host Wittenburg University this Tuesday at 4pm. This is only the fourth home match for the women’s team (who have a 2-1 record at Transy) and they will seek to pull themselves closer to .500 and end their current seven-game losing streak on Tuesday. Still early in their season, this is the first true home match for the men’s team, who will also aim to move closer to .500 against Wittenburg.

Player to Watch: The Softball Pioneers will play host to Thomas More College in a double-header that is also the team’s first home game of the season on Wednesday afternoon. Leading the team in batting average and hits, Junior Chelsea Meiners and the leadership she brings will be invaluable if the Pioneers are to be successful after a tough spring break tournament in Florida. Head out to support the Pioneers at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., or both on Wednesday.
